NIGHT LIFE

Nightlife in Seville is known for good reason as la marcha (marching); usually means an interminable tapas-bar crawl around Santa Cruz, followed by a session in a nightclub and a mass get-together at dawn in the Plaza San Salvador.  The liveliest areas for nightlife are to be found around El Centro, Plaza de la Alfalfa and Calle Marques de Paradas.  On Summer evenings the taverns in the villages just outside the city, known as the ventanas sevillanas, are very popular and people make trips out to places like Velazquez Gavino in La Panoleta, Manolo in La Algaba, and the Ventorrillo Canario in Santiponce.  The Alameda (de Hércules) which is a new-kid-on-the-block is particularly famous with the young and avant-garde.
